Federal officials have announced that they have foiled a potential terrorist attack against the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. The plot allegedly involved assassinating the Saudi ambassador to the US and bombing the embassies of Saudi Arabia and Israel in cities such as Washington and Buenos Aires. Of the two plotters one was a naturalized Iranian American and the other is a member of the Quds Force, part of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. According to Attorney General Eric Holder the attack was “conceived, sponsored and was directed from Iran.” If the attack was in fact approved by the Iranian leadership, then by international law it could be considered an act of war. Holder also said that the President will be meeting federal agencies before announcing any further actions against Iran.
