Just for context, dissatisfaction was not this high even during Watergate. This is bad news for both parties, but it benefits conservatism and libertarianism as ideologies. Progressivism is built on the idea that the government is capable of being an active force for social justice and should have an important role in the lives of its citizens. With numbers like these it is going to be hard to make that case.
